Azubuike Egwuekwe has put pen to paper for Finnish club, Kuopion Palloseura, on a one-year deal.
The Super Eagles defender, becomes manager Marko Rajamaki’s second signing, following the arrival of American forward, Freddy Adu.
“Finnish football club Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS) and Nigerian national team player Azubuike Ekwuekwe have signed a 1+1-year contract,” the club announced on their website.
“The 26-year old defender has played for Nigeria in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, in the African Cup of Nations 2014 and in the World Cup Qualifiers 2014. He also participated at the World Cup Final Tournament in Brazil 2014.”
Egwuekwe will compete with Sharp Räsänen, Hamed Coulibaly, Mikko Pitkänen and Tuomas Rannankari, for a place at the Savon Sanomat AreenaKuopio giants.
